This document was created based on the text al-ʿAqīdah al-Islāmiyyah, written by Muftī ash-Shām Maḥmūd Efendī al-Ḥamzāwī ad-Dimashqī al-Ḥanafī. From this foundational text, we have extracted selected parts and omitted others, with the aim of producing a version that is ideal for children studying the basic creed of Islām. The content herein reflects what has been mass transmitted (mutawātir) from the Prophet ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam, and what has been agreed upon by the scholars of the Muslim Ummah. This text is designed for children aged 6 and above; it may also be utilised for fresh reverts. It is suitable for implementation in maktabs (evening madrasahs) as well as full-time children islamic schools as part of their core ʿAqīdah curriculum. We pray that this effort brings benefit to the Muslim community, and we ask Allah ﷻ for acceptance. We also seek His forgiveness for any errors or shortcomings made in the process.
